Following the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation in 2022, the EU granted concessions to Ukraine with respect to agricultural products. Tariff relief was allowed for a range of commodities including eggs. In recent months exports from Ukraine have competed with E.U. shell eggs and products impacting Poland, the largest E.U. producer and the western neighbor of Ukraine. Accordingly, the European Commission will now impose a tariff on eggs exceeding a threshold to be determined.
Tariffs and restrictions will also be imposed on sugar, corn and honey from the Ukraine.
