Additional H7N3 Case in Australia

06/11/2024

Highly Pathogenic H7N3 has been diagnosed on a fourth farm in the state of Victoria near Melbourne.  Three previous cases are clustered near the town of Meredith and are probably connected with the third-diagnosed farm near Terang, approximately 100 miles east of the index case.

The source of the infection is presumed to be migratory birds.  Depopulation with quarantine and surveillance followed the initial diagnosis.
