In competition with McDonald’s, Burger King will launch a $5 meal deal. The initiative was accepted by franchisees during April. The need for a lower priced promotional meal is evidenced by declining traffic. The Burger King offer will run for several months and will commence before that of McDonald’s, intended to be only four-weeks in duration. The Burger King deal will include a choice of one of three sandwiches with nuggets, fries and a drink.
A feature of both McDonald’s and Burger King offers is the inclusion of nuggets that will be beneficial for the chicken industry.
It is anticipated that other QSRs will follow with their respective deals to attract customers
