Cargill has a commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 10 percent before 2025.  To date, based on a 2017 baseline, the Company has achieved a reduction of 11 percent.  Cargill is contracting with suppliers of renewable energy through 15 projects using purchase agreements and virtual power purchase agreements.  The program extends across twelve countries where Cargill has a presence.

Recently, five new transactions were concluded adding 300 megawatts of either wind or solar capacity to extend the renewable energy portfolio to 716 megawatts.
