Nestle reported a 5.4 percent increase in Q1 fiscal 2022 sales to $23.4 billion. According to Mark Schneider, CEO, pricing was increased as a result of cost inflation.  Nestle provided guidance for organic sales growth of five percent and an operating profit margin between 17.0 and 17.5 percent.  In his report, Schneider commented on the impact of the war in Ukraine and that the company has removed Russia from future projections of sales.

Purina pet care, coffee, and bottled water were among product lines achieving increased sales,.  Nestle Health Science recorded single digit growth focusing on healthy nutrition and products for geriatric consumers.

Nestle, a multinational is confronting a decline in global growth. The International Monetary Fund predicts a 3.6 percent growth rate through 2022 with nine percent inflation peaking in the fourth quarter of the present year.
