Tenth Annual Alltech Global Feed Survey

This year, Alltech Inc. released the 2021 Global Feed Survey in virtual format, incorporating data from 140 nations and more than 28,000 feed mills. The ten top feed producing nations represented 63 percent of total World feed production amounting to 1,188 million metric tons, one percent higher than in 2020. The ten top nations are:-

 

  • China - 240 million metric tons, up 5 percent
  • S. - 206 million metric tons, up 1 percent
  • Brazil - 78 million metric tons, up 10 percent
  • India - 39 million metric tons, down 5 percent
  • Mexico - 38 million metric tons, up 4 percent
  • Spain - 35 million metric tons, unchanged
  • Russia - 31 million metric tons, up 3 percent
  • Japan - 25 million metric tons, unchanged
  • Germany - 25 million metric tons, unchanged
  • Argentina - 23 million metric tons, up 7 percent

 

The breakdown of feed by species comprises:-

  • Broilers - 28 percent
  • Hogs - 24 percent
  • Egg production - 14 percent
  • Dairy - 11 percent
  • Beef - 10 percent
  • Other species - 7 percent
  • Aquaculture - 4 percent
  • Companion animals - 2 percent
