The management of Campbell’s Soup Company has proposed deleting the “Soup” from the company name to become the Campbell’s Company. This modification, supported by the Board will be subject to the approval of shareholders at the November annual meeting.
Since 2018, Campbell’s Soup has purchased snack and food companies including Synder’s-Lance and Sovos brands, reducing the proportion of sales from soup that has been the mainstay of the company for over 150 years.
Mark Clouse, CEO, noted, “This subtle yet important change retains the company’s iconic name recognition, reputation and equity while better reflecting the full breadth of the company’s portfolio.”
