In accordance with SEC requirements, Post Holdings (POST) reported that two recent HPAI outbreaks in Minnesota and Iowa respectively impacted the supply of eggs to subsidiary Michael Foods.  The two cases represented a loss of 5.7 million hens representing 14 percent of the contract supplies. 

Following a corporate reorganization, it is not possible to determine the specific effect of either disease or ingredient costs on the Michael Foods subsidiary from quarterly financial releases.  Analysts and investors are reliant on obligatory corporate statements and comments by management in quarterly press releases and investor calls to determine the impact of environmental factors including disease on the financial performance of Michael Foods.
